I capture life’s raw poetry, one street at a time

I am Peter Kool. On the street, nothing is staged. Every glance, every shadow, every burst of laughter — it all tells a story. With my camera, I freeze those fleeting moments before they disappear forever.

Urban → City Life

Scenes from the streets — where architecture, traffic, and chance encounters tell their own stories.

I am Peter Kool, a Belgian street photographer who has been wandering through the streets for decades, camera in hand. My passion lies in street photography in Belgium and across Europe, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary through fleeting gestures, shadows, and expressions.

For me, the street is an endless stage. Every corner hides a new story, every passerby can become part of an unscripted play. My style balances between black and white street photography, where contrast and silence speak volumes, and color street photography, where vivid tones and urban details breathe life into the frame.

Over the years, my work as street photographer Peter Kool has been presented in exhibitions and festivals, drawing attention for its candid humor, poetic atmosphere, and timeless character. I take pride in showing the humanity of the city — laughter, solitude, absurdity — moments that disappear in an instant but live on in photographs.

Through my lens, I aim to create urban street photography that feels authentic, raw, and alive. Whether it is a street portrait of a stranger in Brussels or a colorful glimpse of Antwerp’s daily rhythm, I let the city speak louder than words.

Photography by Peter Kool is not about control, but about presence. It is about being open to what the street offers and finding beauty in the unexpected. Every image I take is an invitation to pause, to look closer, and to discover the extraordinary within the everyday.
